The Chinook Farms Blog

This Year on the Farm.

After spending many hours studying a vast array of seed catalogs, I have made my selections for this year's growing season. The list is extensive, totaling 153 line items, give or take a dozen. Most have arrived and some have been planted in our first big hoop house. A hoop house is a simple structure covered with plastic. It is just an unheated greenhouse. Last Saturday it was over 90 degrees inside while the outside temperature was hovering around 60. We have two of these hoop houses and they will help us extend our season and grow things like melons and a plethora of tomatoes and peppers.
